Sewing Summit - are you going?

Tickets for the 2012 Sewing Summit go on sale next Tuesday - less than a week away!!

I've been reading over the information all morning and checking out the teachers. There are going to be some SWEET classes this year by some bloggers I've been following for the past 2 years and am dying to meet.

This is definitely the coolest conference ever - a great mix of classes, open sewing time, meeting other cool bloggers in person, and ofcourse fabric shop-hopping around SLC... what could be better?

If you haven't heard about it yet - you really should go check it out. I am not in any way affiliated with this conference - I just think it is an awesome opportunity and wanted to share in case anyone missed the news in bloggyland :)

What I also want to know is... who is going? I'm going to live vicariously through you because I probably will not be going - but on the off chance that there is a miracle and I CAN go... I would love to know who else will be there to hang out with! :)
... barring a miracle, I expect you all to take tons of pictures and give detailed updates when you get back!!
I would LOVE to go and if you consider the amount of classes you get to participate in, the conference is well worth the money... just a bit too much with a plane ticket from the east coast on top of hotel and food costs. *sigh* Maybe next year if I am super duper duper lucky ;-)

Another cool link I wanted to pass on from their webiste is the Travel Handmade series. This is an awesome list of links for making bags of all kinds. Even if you aren't going to the Sewing Summit to show off your nifty new bags, there are some cool links to make for any reason - I am definitely bookmarking quite a few to work on when I have more time :)

Has anyone ever been to a sewing conference or even a weekend retreat? What is your favorite part? Was there anything you didn't like about it? ... I read the whole "Elm Creek Quilts" series and ever since I've wanted to go to a sewing retreat/conference/quilt camp ... Sewing Summit is adding to that obsession haha.

I would love to go and I though about it and am still thinking about it... The things that are keeping me from signing up are :
1. I live in Québec, Canada. It would cost me a fortune to travel there.
2. English isn't my first language so I'd be shy to talk to anybody there (even though my english is pretty good)
3. I don't know anybody.

Maybe next year we can go together ?
